Scouting for Food Pick Up - Saturday 2/10

On Saturday, February 10th, Scouts go back to assigned area and collect the food left on the front porch. Attach the Thank You Card to door or knob thanking neighbor for tax-deductible donation.  

After collecting food items on February 10, all donations should be brought to:

JUST for CUB SCOUTS

CubScoutsLogo-FullColorTwilight Summer Camp- New Evening Format -New this year to accomodate our busy families and volunteer staff, we begin Thursday evening, continue Friday evening with optional campover and finish Saturday by noon! June 7-9, 2018. Adult volunteers and Boy Scouts needed for staffing.  Information here.

Cub Scout Resident Camp - Circle Ten will be offering resident camp for three day sessions at Camp James Ray for Wolf and Bears. Thursday through Saturday. More information here.

New - Cub-A-Palooza FALL 2018 - SAVE THE DATE - October 6-8, 2018 @ Camp Wisdom. Family fun day at Cub World with hands-on activities all the stuff boys and girls like to do.

New - CTX2 - XPERIENCE is Back at the TRACK! - November 9-11, 2018
Bigger is always better so start planning for your Cub Packs to attend for the day or the weekend. Camping spots are determined by Unit registration date so register early to get spot closer to the activities! Registration coming very soon on Camp Master. Information here.


JUST for BOY SCOUTS

Boy-Scoutsx100DEN CHIEF TRAINING - February 10 @ St. Rita's
Boy Scouts can be valuable resources for Cub Scout dens.
By completing this training, a Boy Scout will be eligible to take on the role of Den Chief with a Cub Scout or Webelos den with time served applying toward leadership requirements for rank advancement.  This course is for Boy Scouts 1st Class and above. Fee: $15 - Includes Den Chief book & Training Patch

NEW - MERIT BADGE UNIVERSITY March 12-16 @ Camp Wisdom
Need to catch up on some Merit Badges offered during Spring Break? Cost is $20 for ONE full-day course of TWO half-day sessions. Sign up at CampMaster here.

NEW - TEXAS FIN-FUR-CON March 24 @ Texas Freshwater Fisheries
Attend this MBU with a focus on outdoors, wildlife and conservation with a partnership between Circle Ten Council and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department at the Texas Frehwater Fisheries Center (TFFC). $20 per scout/ $5 per adult leaders; lunch and patch included. Families may attend and tour TFFC and fish for $5/each and have lunch with Scout. More information here. Registration on Camp Master coming soon.

OAK LEAF TRAINING - April 21-22 at Camp Wisdom
First Class Scouts will learn through DOING tasks utilizing the EDGE method and experiencing the stages of group development. Must be 12 years of age. This course is taught by older Boy Scouts. More information and registration here.

BACKCOUNTRY ADVANCED TRAINING
Classroom Training on March 19 & 21st with weekend campout March 23-25 at Meisenbach. This training will prepare you and your troop for back country treks.

2018 CAMPOREE HELL's GATE - Hosted by the Makade Aki OA Chapter.  Patrols will compete using their scout skills, knowledge and team strengths to achieve their assigned mission. Not to be missed. Troops should send their OA representative to staff meetings starting in February 2018, the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Begin your preparations.
April 13-15, 2018 at Camp Constantin; $25 per scout; $15 per adult.

NEW-SUMMER CAMP 2018 - Early June Summer Camp Week
Week 0, June 10-16, is  now available at both Camp Constantin and Trevor Rees-Jones Scout Camp. First come, first served. Please make your troop reservation now at Circle Ten Campmaster.

World Jamboree, Southern Region Area 2 @ Summit Bechtel Reserve - Circle Ten's contingent is limited to 144 scouts and 16 leaders and will fill up quick. July 22-August 4, 2019. $2,500 expected fees. Contact James Faircloth at 214-984-7606 or email here.

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)- This week long training teaches scouts leadership skills such as team development, project management, and conflict resolution. This is the youth equivalent to the adult Wood Badge course. Some units require this course before scout may become a Senior Patrol Leader. Schedule and info here.

National Advanced Leadership Training (NAYLE) - For the older scouts who have taken NYLT, this week long course tests your leadership skills and helps you develop your own servant leadership vision. Select from BSA's high adventure camps for your venue.  Many of our BP older scouts have attended this class; if you want to talk to one, please contact webmaster. Adult equivalent is the Leadership Experience course. Registration is up for NAYLE for summer 2018@ Philmont or the Summit. Info here.

National Order of the Arrow Conference 2018  - July 26-August 6 at Indiana University. While the Miki Lodge will be sending the largest contingent in the US, our allocation is smaller than 2017. Go to miki.org for more information..

BSAFleur-de-lis_Color Back Country Advanced Training - Getting ready for PHilmont? Then you'll want to take this training with your scouts. Classroom evenings March 19 & 21st, weekend campout March 23-25 Meisenbach. More information here.

Twilight Camp Walking Den Leaders & Area Leads - Each pack that attends is required to provide a Walking Den Leader and must have face-to-face YPT training. Teaching scout skills, games, and sports is always fun for adults. Please contact Manuel Vasquez to be an area Lead (Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos) here.

Your Training Records - Is all your classroom and online training recorded proberly with council? Check with your Unit Key 3 or email here.  State your name and Unit number to receive a copy of your training records.

Summer Camp Mentors - Are you a Merit Badge  Counselor with a passion for passing your knoweldge and lesson plans down to next generation? Consider being a "Mentor" to Camp Directors. Email Scott Arrington, Camping Director for more information.

Shooting Sports Certification - If you want to recieve Basic Instructor Training, BB Gun/Arhcery Range Master, Range Safety Officer certification, or NRA certification please visit Circle Ten council's Shooting Sports website here.

Woodbadge - Don't wait - take during Cub Scout Volunteer! A two weekend long course to develop your leadership skills. The next course, WB 125, still has spots available on April 6-8 and 20-22, 2018. BP's own Tony Magee is the Senior Patrol Leader so this one is guaranteed FUN! General Information & Registration.

Philmont Training Center - 2018 Registration is OPEN - Looking for the ulitmate Scouting Family vacation? Philmont Training Center (PTC) is for you! Excellent training, at the Sangre de Christo mountains, age appropriate outdoor programs for your kids, and over-the-top spouse program. My favorite is the world class COPE course. Check it out here.

Philmont Leadership Challenge - Ready to put your Woodbadge skills to the test? Define your Servant Leadership mantra at this week long course next summer. Best taken within one to two years of Woodbadge. Dates: June 30-July 6 and September 16-22.
